About the Project
Hi!
You are so welcome here!
We are Stephanie and Ben. We created this site to post lots of new sound design and Foley work which we will be working on and uploading over the next few months.
we are just starting out in Sound design so please get in touch if you would like to join this project or any future projects. All our contact details are on the Contact us page so please don't be afraid to get in touch.
What is Foley?
Foley is the creation of sound by using and recording objects in the real world. This is normally to create a sound for a movie or film which may not have been picked up by the microphones on set.
What is Sound Design?
Sound design is the creation of the audio for a film by using a range of mediums. These can include Foley, music and Synthesized sounds.
Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Persia, Babylonia, Japan, Tibet, and India all include some form of these elements either as Gods, elements or transitional states. Even then they were an important part of society. It is because they are so commonly used that we feel as though they are easily overlooked. This is why we decided to shed some light on these topics. We will be posting some information on each as we go through them, along side posting all the content for our main project.
This information can be found on the project's Instagram.
This project is a sound design project to show you how easy it is to create Foley from home.
We will be using a lot of basic/ simple materials which can easily be found in kitchens, bathrooms and so on.
Along side the Foley work is the video's we will be posting to give some insight into which sounds can be used for what, and which movies already use these sounds.
There will be a simple Foley production video to explain how to set up for that specific Foley sound and how best to record it.
Then we will post the post-production of that sound, using a screen-recording to show how it was made.
This will hopefully be a lot of content to enjoy and play around with to get started with Foley.
